Meditate on this

When we meditate, we are taking the time to "be" with ourselves. But
what does that really mean and how do we achieve it when we are so
used to doing and acting rather than being?

The World that we all live in requires us to make decisions on a
virtually constant basis. Each of these decisions, be they big or
small, have repurcussions to our sense of wellbeing. A feeling of
serenity is achieved when we feel that these decisions are harmonious,
fluid. A sense of fear and worry sets in when we no longer trust our
ability to choose wisely or wonder if we are out of synch with the
flow of life.

When we meditate, all these feelings and fears stop. There is no
decision to make or repurcussion to worry about when we allow the mind
to focus on the relief of inhaling and exhaling or repeating a mantra,
a phrase over and over. Meditation need not just happen in a quiet
space at a designated time. You can meditate now by bringing your
awareness back to your breath, by relieving your mind of thoughts of
the future and encouraging it to stay in the present moment.

Inhale and exhale. Inhale and exhale. Inhale and exhale.

Meditation is not rocket science, you do not need to follow a
complicated set of instructions. You just need to inhale and exhale.
That is all you need to do. Try it and let us know how you get on.
